My mother (stepmother) introduced me to the beauty of bead work. I remember when I was 10 her family even had a storefront in Apache, OK, USA. My mom really was excited to teach me so many things, at the time none of us knew I had a learning disability that came with a constant pressure for perfection from myself. I gave up when I could not make anything as beautiful as she did. I may never be able to match her creative skills, but I can appreciate the medicine it offers. I do not bead while in a bad space, I keep clear intentions and good thoughts while making things. I can hear her laugh sometimes and especially as I made this medallion. Laughter is good medicine, and I hope it carries the spirit with which it was made. I believe Creator loves it when the people laugh and smile with each other. I definitely had a lot of fun making this medallion, and it reminds me to not be so serious all the time and have fun while learning.
